Ever wondered how TropicalOrchids254 grows such lush tropical plants? Discover our weekly nursery routine and learn how we use Nhance Seaweed Fertiliser as a foliar spray, soil drench and root soak to produce healthier orchids, kokedamas, indoor plants and gardens.

Behind every lush orchid, every thriving kokedama, every vibrant air plant that leaves our nursery is a routine. Simple. Consistent. Organic. This is how we do it.

The Routine Behind the Results

People ask us all the time: what fertiliser do you use?

The honest answer is that no single product transforms a plant overnight.

What creates exceptional tropical plants is consistency — a weekly nursery routine that never wavers, regardless of the season.

And one product appears in almost every programme we run.

Nhance Seaweed Fertiliser.

Not because it's fashionable.

Because it works.

Why Seaweed Fertiliser Belongs in Every Routine

Seaweed fertiliser doesn't replace good plant care. It amplifies it.

Combined with the right watering, lighting, growing media and airflow, Nhance encourages stronger roots, healthier foliage, better transplant success, faster establishment, more vigorous growth, and improved resilience.

We don't wait for plants to struggle. We support them from the very beginning.

Three Ways We Apply It

Nhance is remarkably versatile. At TropicalOrchids254, we use it three ways — each suited to a different plant type and growth stage.

01 — Foliar Spraying

Our favourite method. Instead of feeding only through the roots, we spray the diluted solution directly onto the foliage.

Leaves absorb the beneficial compounds in seaweed fertiliser quickly and efficiently — making this especially effective for orchids, air plants, monsteras, anthuriums, pothos, ferns, bromeliads, dracaenas, and ficus.

The result: healthier leaves, stronger growth, and that deep vibrant colour that makes our plants stand out.

We always spray in the morning — giving foliage time to dry before temperatures peak, with good airflow throughout.

02 — Soil Drenching

Applied directly around the root zone, soil drenching encourages vigorous root development where it matters most.

We drench our indoor plants, kokedamas, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, newly planted shrubs, and tropical landscaping.

Healthy roots create healthier plants. That principle guides everything we do.

03 — Root Soaking Before Planting

Before young plants enter their new growing environment, we soak their root systems in a diluted Nhance solution.

A simple step. A noticeable difference.

"Every lush orchid, every thriving kokedama, every healthy air plant that leaves our nursery has been supported by the same routine — week after week, season after season."

Plant by Plant

Orchids

Root development is always our priority. Regular foliar spraying maintains healthy leaves; occasional root applications encourage vigorous, reliable growth and flowering.

Air Plants

Many assume tillandsias don't need fertiliser. They do. We combine our misting routine with diluted Nhance — keeping our air plants healthy, pup-producing, and beautifully coloured year-round.

Cocofibre Kokedamas

Our handcrafted kokedamas receive both foliar sprays and occasional drenches to keep roots thriving within the cocofibre medium — lush, vibrant, and ready for their new homes.

Indoor Plants

Large Monstera leaves don't happen by accident. Our indoor routine — correct lighting, proper watering, neem oil when needed, seaweed fertiliser, routine inspection — is what creates exceptional plants. Consistency over complexity, always.

Fruit Trees

The first weeks after planting are critical. We include Nhance during the planting process to give roots the best possible start.

Vegetable Gardens

We use seaweed fertiliser across our vegetable beds too — encouraging vigorous leafy growth and strong root development as part of our organic gardening approach.

Freshly Planted Lawns

New lawns are under stress from day one. Applying Nhance during establishment encourages faster rooting and produces thicker, greener turf over time.

Simple, by Design

There are countless fertilisers and supplements available. We don't chase all of them.

Healthy plants need good growing media, correct watering, suitable light, proper airflow, consistent maintenance, and high-quality organic supplements.

Seaweed fertiliser fits naturally into that philosophy — and that's exactly why it's stayed in our routine.

Bring the Nursery Home

You don't need a commercial nursery to follow this approach.

Use Nhance as a foliar spray, a soil drench, or a root soak when transplanting — and give your plants the same weekly support we give ours.

Orchids on a balcony. Monstera in a living room. Vegetables in the garden. Fruit trees in the landscape.

The routine is the same. The results speak for themselves.

Every beautiful plant at TropicalOrchids254 grows from the same philosophy: healthy roots, healthy foliage, consistent care. Nhance Seaweed Fertiliser is part of that — not because it's a miracle, but because it works, week after week, plant after plant.
