Native to Argentina, Bolivia and neighbouring regions of South America, Tillandsia bergerii naturally grows attached to trees and rocky outcrops where it enjoys bright light, fresh air and seasonal rainfall.
Its elegant silver-green leaves form compact rosettes that continually produce new offsets, gradually creating dense, cascading clumps.
Unlike many Tillandsia species, Tillandsia bergerii does not normally flower under Kenyan growing conditions. Instead, it invests its energy into producing more pups, eventually forming spectacular mature clumps that become larger, fuller and more valuable every year.
